Bon 20^th September 1892 Waratah Tasmania the son of John and Margaret Amy Heald (nee Grills) a farm hand he embarked 3^rd January 1916 on board “HMAT Kyarra” with the 26^th Infantry Battalion.

He was killed in action 29^th August 1918 in France and is commemorated in the Australian National Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, France
