Bon 20th September 1892 Waratah Tasmania the son of John and Margaret Amy Heald (nee Grills) a farm hand he embarked 3rd January 1916 on board “HMAT Kyarra” with the 26th Infantry Battalion.

 

He was killed in action 29th August 1918 in France and is commemorated in the Australian National Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, France
