HEAN, KEITH DOCTOR
Studio portrait of 2842 Private (Pte) Keith Doctor Hean, 26th Battalion, of Sorell, Tasmania. A farm hand prior to enlistment, Pte Hean embarked with the 6th reinforcements from Melbourne on HMAT Ulysses on 27 October 1915. Whilst serving with the 12th Battalion he was killed in action in France on 19 June 1916, aged 25.
KILLED IN ACTION HON. A. HEAN'S SON. While at Latrobe last night in connection with his duties as a member of the Public Works Committee, the Hon. A. Hean, M.H.A. received the sad news of the death of his son Keith, who was killed in action in France on June 19. The sincerest sympathy is extended to Mr. Hean and the sorrowing family. It will be recollected that the last time the committee was on the Coast another member — the Hon. J. Murdoch MLC— received news of the death of his son, also killed in action in France.
