Heffernan, George Vincent

Born 1891 Deloraine Tasmania the son of William and Maria Heffernan (nee Stanley) married to Ruby Pearl Wood a clerk he embarked Sydney 25^th June on board “HMAT Berrima” with the 20^th Infantry Battalion.

He was wounded in action on the Gallipoli Peninsula and died 15^th December 1915 aboard the hospital ship “Dunluce Castle” from a severe head wound and was buried at sea between Anzac and Mudros.

He is commemorated on the Lone Pine Memorial, Gallipoli, Turkey.
