Hickman, Clarence Douglas

Born 23^rd. February 1898 Old Beach Tasmania to James and Catherine Hickman (nee Harwood) he was a labourer when he enlisted.  He departed Melbourne 24^th August 1916 with the 12^th Infantry Battalion on the “HMAT Botanist”.

He was killed outright by a very heavy shell in Polygon Wood.  His body was not recovered at that time.
