Higgins, Richard Robert

Tasmanian Mail 9^th September 1915

Born 16^th September 1891 New Norfolk Tasmania to Richard Ford and Mary Higgins (nee Heffernan) he embarked Hobart 20^th October 1914 on HMAT Geelong with the 3^rd Field Artillery Brigade.

He died from wounds received at Gallipoli on 1^st. August 1915 and is commemorated on the Lone Pine Memorial, Turkey.

HIGGINS— On August 1. 1915. died of wounds at the Dardanelles, Richard Robert, second beloved son of Richard Ford and the late Mary Jane Higgins, of Augusta road, Newtown (late of Bushy Park), aged 24 years. Loved by all who knew him.
