Hill, Walter Patrick

Born 1^st December 1884 Launceston Tasmania the son of Louis Hill and married to Mary Ann Noble, a labourer he embarked Melbourne 8^th February 1916 on board “HMAT Warilda” with the 12^th Infantry Battalion.

He was killed in action 12^th April 1917 in France and is commemorated in the Noreuil Australian Cemetery, France.

Walter Hill, who attained the rank of sergeant, was for many years, from his boyhood on-with the late Mr P. Halloran and was also well and popularly known throughout the district which he left some eight or nine years ago. He leaves a wife and seven children, for whom the greatest sympathy is expressed throughout the district.
