Hill, Walter Patrick

 

Born 1st December 1884 Launceston Tasmania the son of Louis Hill and married to Mary Ann Noble, a labourer he embarked Melbourne 8th February 1916 on board “HMAT Warilda” with the 12th Infantry Battalion. 

He was killed in action 12th April 1917 in France and is commemorated in the Noreuil Australian Cemetery, France. 

Walter Hill, who attained the rank of sergeant, was for many years, from his boyhood on-with the late Mr P. Halloran and was also well and popularly known throughout the district which he left some eight or nine years ago. He leaves a wife and seven children, for whom the greatest sympathy is expressed throughout the district.
