Hine William Lionel

 

Studio portrait of 175 Private (Pte) (later Sergeant) William Lionel (Leo) Hine, 21st Battalion, of Windsor, Vic. Pte Hine was an engineer and iron-turner prior to his enlistment on 31 January 1915. He embarked with A Company on 10 May 1915 from Melbourne on HMAT Ulysses. He died of wounds received at Becourt, France, on 24 August 1916. He was 26 years old.
