Hirst, Arthur Poyntz

 

Born 1897 Hobart Tasmania the son of Arthur Charles and Maria Louisa Hirst (nee Judge) of “The Priory” Bothwell Tasmania a farm student he embarked Melbourne 28th October 1915 on board SS Hawkes Bay with the 3rd Light Horse Regiment.

He died 21st June 1916 in Calais France from injuries accidentally received when he fell out of a train after being kicked by a mule and was buried in the Calais Southern Cemetery, France.
