Hitchens, Robert
Born Cressy Tasmania the son of Henry Hitchens a ploughman he embarked Sydney 20th January 1916 on board “HMAT Runic” with the 8th Field Company Engineers. He died 26th October 1918 in France from broncho pneumonia and was buried in the Abbeville Communal Cemetery Extension, France. HITCHENS. - On the 26th October, 3rd Australian Hospital, Sapper Robert Hitchens aged 23 years, fourth son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Hitchens, Cressy. Died of pneumonia after three years' service.
