Hodgetts Mervyn Jack

 

 

 

 

 

Born 1896 Cressy Tasmania the son of William and Sarah Hodgetts (nee Griffiths) a labourer he embarked Hobart 1st July 1916 on board “HMAT Berrima” with the 40th Infantry Battalion.

He was serving with the 15th Battalion when he was listed missing in action 11th April 1917 and died 6th May 1917 from a severe gunshot wound to the thigh whilst a POW and was buried in the Hem-Lenglet Communal Cemetery, France.
