Hodgetts Mervyn Jack

Born 1896 Cressy Tasmania the son of William and Sarah Hodgetts (nee Griffiths) a labourer he embarked Hobart 1^st July 1916 on board “HMAT Berrima” with the 40^th Infantry Battalion.

He was serving with the 15^th Battalion when he was listed missing in action 11^th April 1917 and died 6^th May 1917 from a severe gunshot wound to the thigh whilst a POW and was buried in the Hem-Lenglet Communal Cemetery, France.

Pte E Goss (died from wounds) Pte Mervyn Jack Hodgetts (died whilst POW in Germany) and Pte William Gough (POW)
