Holcombe, Edward John
Born 20th July 1895 Launceston Tasmania to George and Sarah Holcombe (nee Ransley) a French polisher who embarked Melbourne 9th September 1915 on board “HMAT Ballarat” with the 3rd Field Artillery Brigade. Driver Holcombe was serving with the 103rd Howitzer Battery 3rd Brigade Australian Field Artillery when he was killed in action 20th May 1918 near Amiens France and is commemorated in the Franvillers Communal Cemetery Extension, France.
