Holcombe, Edward John

Born 20^th July 1895 Launceston Tasmania to George and Sarah Holcombe (nee Ransley) a French polisher who embarked Melbourne 9^th September 1915 on board “HMAT Ballarat” with the 3^rd Field Artillery Brigade.

Driver Holcombe was serving with the 103rd Howitzer Battery 3rd Brigade Australian Field Artillery when he was killed in action 20^th May 1918 near Amiens France and is commemorated in the Franvillers Communal Cemetery Extension, France.
