HOODLESS, CYRIL JAMES ROY
Studio portrait of 1837 Private Cyril James Hoodless, 9th Battalion, of Railton, Tas, who died on 31 May 1917 of wounds received at Bullecourt, aged 19
Deep and genuine sorrow was felt at Railton on Saturday when the sad news was heard that Private Cyril Hoodless had died of wounds received while in action in France. It is now about a month since word came through that Private Hoodless was wounded, and as no further word had come to hand, it was sincerely hoped that the brave lad was recovering. Sympathy is expressed on every hand to the sorrowing family, who only a few weeks back lost another son who was killed in action. The North Western Advocate 11th June 1917
