Corporal Hookway was in the Army Medical Corps and after service in Egypt was transferred to France. He left Tasmania about two and a half years ago and the last letters received from him showed that he was looking forward to shortly receiving leave that would enable him to visit England and Scotland. He was the eldest son of the Warden of Scottsdale (Mr. C. H Hookway) and was only 21 years of age.  Before enlisting he was in the employ of the Scottsdale Butter Factory Company.
