Hortle, Roy Thomas

Born 17^th April 1892 Longford Tasmania to Thomas John and Catherine Hortle (nee Ridley) a farmer who departed Adelaide 10^th February 1917 on board “HMAT Seang Bee” with the 12^th Infantry Battalion.

He was admitted to the 2^nd Australian Field Ambulance with a gunshot wound to the left thigh and on the 12^th January 1918 sent to the 2^nd Australian Casualty Clearing Station where died the same day from his wounds.

He was buried in the Trois Arbres Cemetery, Steenwerck, France.
