Hortle, Roy Thomas

 

Born 17th April 1892 Longford Tasmania to Thomas John and Catherine Hortle (nee Ridley) a farmer who departed Adelaide 10th February 1917 on board “HMAT Seang Bee” with the 12th Infantry Battalion.

He was admitted to the 2nd Australian Field Ambulance with a gunshot wound to the left thigh and on the 12th January 1918 sent to the 2nd Australian Casualty Clearing Station where died the same day from his wounds. 

He was buried in the Trois Arbres Cemetery, Steenwerck, France.
