Studio portrait probably of 3668 Private Thomas Howard, 8th Reinforcements, 26th Battalion, of Devonport, Tas, aged 34 years. Pte Howard enlisted on 21 September 1915 and embarked from Brisbane aboard HMAT Kyarra on 3 January 1916. He was killed in action on 27 May 1916 in France.
