Hunter, Stephen Morven

 

 

Born Launceston Tasmania the son of Laura Hunter he embarked Melbourne 16th October 1915 on board “HMAT Port Lincoln” with the 12th Infantry Battalion.

 

On the 3rd September 1916 he was admitted to the 13th Australian Field Ambulance with shell wounds to his legs and was later transferred to the 3rd Casualty Clearing Station at Boulogne with shell wounds and a fractured right leg.

On the 6th September 1916 he embarked for England on the hospital ship “NewHaven” and was admitted to the Grayling Hospital  Unfortunately he developed double pneumonia and died died 5th November 1916 and was buried in the Chichester Cemetery, United Kingdom.
