Ion, Gordon William

Born 18^th April 1897 Longford Tasmania to Christopher and Charlotte Sophia Ion (nee Sizer) a miner who departed Melbourne 24^th August 1916 on board “HMAT Botanist” with the 12^th Infantry Battalion

He died from wounds received in action 15^th April 1917 Beugny, Pas De Calais, France and was buried Red Cross Corner Cemetery, Beugny, France. He was 19 years old.
