JAMES, ALFRED EDWARD

 

 Studio portrait of 759 (later 759A) Private (Pte) Alfred Edward James, 12th Battalion. A labourer of Scottsdale, Tasmania, prior to enlistment, Pte James embarked with the 14th Reinforcements on HMAT Nestor (A71) on 21 November 1917. He was killed in action on 26 July 1918, aged 23
