James, Rodrick Reginald
Born 2nd September 1897 Latrobe Tasmania the son of Alfred George and Florence Ellinor James (nee Metcalf) he embarked Sydney 13th May 1916 on board “HMAT Beltana” with the 25th Howitzer Brigade.
He died 24th April 1918 in France from wounds received in the field and was buried in the Querrieu British Cemetery, Querrieu, Corbie Albert Area, France. Information has been conveyed to Mr. and Mrs. Alfred James Moriarty of the death of their youngest son, Gunner R. R. James ("Jock") as the result of wounds received in France on April 24. Deceased was only in his 21st year when he made the supreme sacrifice.
