Jerrett Reginald
Born 1886 Tyrendarra, Narrawong Victoria the son of William John and Meta Mary Jerrett (nee Smith) a soldier he embarked Hobart 20th October 1914 on board “HMAT Geelong” with the 12th Infantry Battalion and the rank of Staff Sergeant Major. He died in the 17th General Hospital Alexandria from a gunshot wound to the chest and was buried in the Chatby Military and War Memorial Cemetery, Alexandria, Egypt. Sergeant Major R Jerrett, reported to have died of wounds joined the Signalling Corps 12th Battalion under the late Lieutenant Colonel Clarke at Queenstown where he was stationed as a member of the instructional staff. He was a comparatively young man and is understood to be a native of Victoria where he had been connected with the Royal Australian Artillery The Weekly Courier 13th May 1914
