Jones, Alfred Chaplin
Born 1886 Kerang Victoria the son of Thomas Peter and Amy Victoria Jones (nee Campbell) living in Tasmania and married to Beryl Lakeland Benson, a harness maker he embarked Hobart 20th October 1914 on board “HMAT Geelong” with the 12th Infantry Battalion.
He was serving with the 3rd Field Company Engineers when he died 22nd August 1917 at the 1st London General Hospital Camberwell England from a gunshot wound to the thigh and was buried in the Brookwood Military Cemetery, Pirbright, Surrey, United Kingdom.
