Jones, Alfred Chaplin

Born 1886 Kerang Victoria the son of Thomas Peter and Amy Victoria Jones (nee Campbell) living in Tasmania and married to Beryl Lakeland Benson, a harness maker he embarked Hobart 20^th October 1914 on board “HMAT Geelong” with the 12^th Infantry Battalion.

He was serving with the 3^rd Field Company Engineers when he died 22^nd August 1917 at the 1^st London General Hospital Camberwell England from a gunshot wound to the thigh and was buried in the Brookwood Military Cemetery, Pirbright, Surrey, United Kingdom.
