Jones, James Lindsay

Born Bridgenorth Tasmania the son of Thomas Alexander and Agnes Jones a shop assistant he embarked Melbourne 10^th November 1915 on board “HMAT Ascanius” with the 12^th Infantry Battalion.

He was serving with the 52^nd Battalion when he was killed in action 5^th April 1918 in France and is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, Picardie, France.

His brother 1649 Sergeant Tasman Leslie Jones MM, 40th Battalion returned to Australia, 29 August 1918
