Jones, John Alexander

Born Hobart Tasmania but living and working in Queenstown the son of John and Jane Jones (nee Carson) a miner he embarked Brisbane 29^th June 1915 on board “HMAT Aeneas” with the 26^th Infantry Battalion.

He was killed in action 29^th July 1916 in France (previously reported missing) and is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, Picardie, France
