Jones, John Alexander

 

Born Hobart Tasmania but living and working in Queenstown the son of John and Jane Jones (nee Carson) a miner he embarked Brisbane 29th June 1915 on board “HMAT Aeneas” with the 26th Infantry Battalion.

 

He was killed in action 29th July 1916 in France (previously reported missing) and is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, Picardie, France
