Joseph Paul Hamilton Morris

 

Born 17th August 1888 Carlton Tasmania the son of William Morris and Emma Amelia Joseph (nee McGuiness) married to Dorothy Leigh Beran, a Congregational Minister he embarked Adelaide 10th February 1917 on board “HMAT Seang Bee” with the 48th Battalion 9th Reinforcements. 

Cpl Joseph was killed in action 3rd May 1918 in France and is commemorated on the Adelaide Cemetery, Villers-Bretonneux, Villers-Bretonneux Area, France.

 

Mrs. Paul Joseph of Morrisdale Carlton Tasmania has received news that her husband, Corporal Paul Joseph, has been killed in action, though formerly reported missing on May 3. Before enlisting he was the Rev. Paul Joseph, minister of the Hindmarsh Congregational Church, South Australia. Prior to his theological course he had charge of the Semaphore Congregational Church (S.A.), after which he went to Parkin College, South Australia, under the late Rev. Dr. Bevan, of Adelaide. Paul Joseph was the fourth son of Morris Joseph, of Carlton, Tasmania. He leaves a widow and two sons. Mrs. Paul Joseph is the youngest daughter of the late Rev. Dr. Bevan.
