Jupp, Allan Thomas Frank
Born 10th November 1896 North Motton Tasmania the son of William Joseph and Ethel Augusta Jupp (nee Manson) a farmer he embarked Melbourne 20th October 1916 on board “HMAT Port Lincoln” with the 12th Infantry Battalion. He died 1st January 1917 at the Military Hospital Devonport Hospital England from appendicitis and was buried in the Plymouth (Efford) Cemetery, Plymouth, Devon, United Kingdom Yesterday advice was received from the Defence Department to the effect that Private A. F. Jupp, son of Mr. W. Jupp of Central Gawler had died at Devonport Hospital, England, on Janunary 1. Private Jupp who left Tasmania only about six months ago, was wounded in action on December 6, but it is stated that the actual cause of death was appendicitis. The sad news was conveyed to the bereaved family through the Anglican rector (Rev. E. A. Salisbury). The Examiner 11th January 1917
