Kennedy Harold Horace

 

Born 23rd April 1878 Franklin Tasmania the son of Abraham Houlton and Ellen Kennedy (nee Thompson).

 

Studio portrait of 4811 (later 1676) Private (Pte) Harold Horace Kennedy, of Melbourne, Vic. Pte Kennedy enlisted on 21 October 1915 and originally embarked aboard HMAT Wiltshire in Melbourne on 7 March 1916 as a member of the 15th Reinforcments, 8th Battalion. He failed to re-embark in Fremantle and was transferred to the 2nd Reinforcements, 51st Battalion. He embarked aboard HMAT Aeneas in Fremantle on 17 April 1916. He was killed in action on 40th birthday at Villers Bretonneux, France, on 24 April 1918. His death is commemorated at the Villers Bretonneux Memorial.
