Kilmartin, John Daly

Born 7^th March 1892 Hobart Tasmania to Michael Thomas and Margaret Agatha Kilmartin (nee Daly) a clerk who embarked Melbourne 22^nd November 1915 on board “HMAT Persic” with the 6^th Field Artillery Brigade.

Bombadier Kilmartin was killed in action 1^st June 1917 about 200 metres from Ploegsteert Wood when he was hit by flying debris from a shell. Three others were killed by the same shell. He is commemorated in the London Rifle Brigade Cemetery, Belgium.
