Lambert, Rene George

LAMBERT George

 

Born 1895 Geeveston Tasmania the son of George Thomas and Ethel Mary Lambert (nee Beech) a farmer who embarked Adelaide 1st. April 1915 on board “HMAT Port Lincoln” with the 15th Infantry Battalion.

 

Cpl Lambert was killed in action 8th August 1916 in France and is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial

 

GEEVESTON SOLDIER KILLED

Councillor G. Lambert of Geeveston has received the sad intelligence that his son Sergt Rene Lambert previously reported wounded and missing has now been officially reported killed in September of last year. The deepest sympathy is felt for Councillor Lambert and family throughout the district.
