Larsen, Albert Victor
Born 1897 Hobart Tasmania the son of Peter and Maria Larsen (nee Appledorf) a farmer he embarked Hobart 1st July 1916 on board “HMAT Berrima” with the 40th Infantry Battalion He was killed in action at Hazebrouck 28th May 1918 and is commemorated in the Borre British Cemetery, France News has been received by Mr. and Mrs. P. Larsen, of Macquarie Plains, that their son, Private Victor Larsen, has been killed in action in France. Private Larson left Tasmania in the 40th Battalion, and while in England volunteered for the 12th Battalion, in which he was severely wounded in April last year. After spending six months in England he rejoined his unit, and in a recent battle received his fatal wounds. A younger brother is on his way to the front. The Mercury 11th June 1918
