Lewis, Alfred Henry

 

 

Born 1895 Evandale Tasmania the son of George Henry and Emily Mary Lewis a farm worker he embarked Fremantle 19th April 1915 on board “HMAT Argyllshire” with the 12th Infantry Battalion.

He died 20th October 1915 on board the hospital ship “Nevasa” from pneumonia after falling ill on the Gallipoli Peninsula and is commemorated on the Lone Pine Memorial, Gallipoli, Turkey.
