Lewis, Robert Nelson

 

 

 

Born 15th April 1897 Osterley Tasmania the son of Robert and Bridget Emma Lewis (nee Wrigley) a railway clerk he embarked Melbourne 21st October 1916 on board “HMAT Port Melbourne” with the 40th Infantry Battalion.

 

Cpl Lewis was killed in action 12th August 1918 in France and is commemorated in the Villers-Bretonneux Military Cemetery, Villers-Bretonneux, Villers-Bretonneux Area, France
