Lindley, James Reginald
Born 17th October 1895 Port Frederick Tasmania to Charles William and Mary Lyall Lindley (nee O’Meara) he was a Clerk when he enlisted. He embarked Melbourne 17th June 1915 on “HMAT Wandilla” with the 3rd Field Artillery Brigade.
He served in Gallipoli became ill with nephritis (inflammation of the kidneys) and died Malta 5th November 1915. He is buried in Pieta Military Cemetery, Malta. Mr. C. W. Lindley, of Devonport received word last night that his son, Pte. James Reginald Lindley, of the 3rd F.A.Brigade, had died from nephritis at Malta on November 5. Deceased was 20 years of age, and left Devonport about three months' ago. For some years he was employed at the Devonport branch of the Tasmanian Woolgrowers Agency Co., and about 10 months ago accepted a position with Murdoch Bros., Hobart.
