Loane, Harold Claude
He was born Evandale Tasmania, a farmer who embarked Melbourne 23rd September 1916 on board “HMAT Seang Choon” with the 40th Infantry Battalion. He was killed in action 30th August 1918 at Clery while D Company was advancing up a trench to the attack they were fired on by enemy machine gun fire and he was badly wounded and died shortly thereafter. He was buried in the Suzanne Military Cemetery No 3, France.
