Studio portrait of 4532 Private (Pte) Arthur Leslie Lodge, 14th Reinforcements, 12th Battalion, of Tunbridge, Tas. Pte Lodge enlisted on 8 November 1915 and embarked aboard HMAT Warilda in Melbourne on 8 February 1916. On 22 April 1917 he was appointed as a gunner and on 28 April 1917 he transferred to the 4th Heavy and Medium Light Trench Mortar Battery. He was killed in action in France, on 3 May 1917, having previously been reported as missing in action. His death is commemorated at the Villers Bretonneux Memorial in France.
