Born 8th June 1896 Launceston Tasmania the son of Alfred Henry and Edith Lucy Luck (nee Dineen) a farmer he embarked Melbourne 19th September 1916 on board “HMAT Commonwealth” with the 4th Machine Gun Company.

He was serving with the 22nd Company Australian Machine Gun Corps when he was killed in action 21st April 1917 and is commemorated in the Vaulx Hill Cemetery, France.
