Ludbey, Wilfred

 

 

 

Born 25th May 1879 Sandfly Tasmania to Dominique and Caroline Louisa Ludbey (nee Crane) and married to Emily Maude Scull, a farmer who embarked Hobart 20th October 1914 on board “HMAT Geelong” with the 3rd Light Horse Regiment C Squadron bound for the Gallipoli Peninsula. 

Private Ludbey had also served in the Boer War with the 3rd Battalion Australian Commonwealth Horse (Tas)

Lance Corporal Ludbey was killed in action 6th August 1916 at Mt Meredith in Egypt and is commemorated in the Kantara War Memorial Cemetery, Egypt.
