Ludbey, Wilfred

Born 25^th May 1879 Sandfly Tasmania to Dominique and Caroline Louisa Ludbey (nee Crane) and married to Emily Maude Scull, a farmer who embarked Hobart 20^th October 1914 on board “HMAT Geelong” with the 3^rd Light Horse Regiment C Squadron bound for the Gallipoli Peninsula.

Private Ludbey had also served in the Boer War with the 3^rd Battalion Australian Commonwealth Horse (Tas)

Lance Corporal Ludbey was killed in action 6^th August 1916 at Mt Meredith in Egypt and is commemorated in the Kantara War Memorial Cemetery, Egypt.
