Lyons, Michael

 

Born 13th April 1894 Beaconsfield Tasmania the son of John Peter and Emma Lyons (nee McKercher) a labourer from Queentown Tasmania he embarked Sydney 20th February 1916 on board “HMAT Ulysses” with the No 3 Company Mining Corps

 

He was serving with the 3rd Australian Tunnelling Company when he was killed in action 27th November 1916 in France and is commemorated in the Hersin Communal Cemetery Extension, Hersin-Coupigny, Lens, Nord Pas de Calais, France
