Mackay Kenneth Scott
Born Townsville Queensland the son of John and Elizabeth McKay a farmer he embarked Mebourne 21st October 1914 on board “HMAT Orvieto” with the 5th Infantry Battalion. He died 29th August 1915 on board the hospital ship “Devenha” from a gunshot wound to the head received on the Gallipoli Peninsula. He is commemorated on the Lone Pine Memorial, Gallipoli Peninsula. Intelligence reached Devonport on Friday that Private Ken Mackay of the 5th Battalion, had died of wounds son August 29. Ho was the youngest son of Mrs. E. A. Mackay formerly of 'Weeroona' Devonport but now residing in Melbourne. An elder brother is assayer to the Mt. Bischoff Company at Waratah. The North Western Advocate 27th September 1915
