Marsh, Alan Lindsay

Born 1887 Hobart Tasmania the son of Henry Field and Emma Jane Marsh (nee Johnson) a metallurgical chemist who embarked Melbourne 5th December 1914 on board “HMAT Kyarra” with the 1st Australian Clearing Hospital.

 

He was serving in Gallipoli when he contracted enteric fever and was evacuated to Egypt where he died 6th September 1915 at the 19th General Hospital and was buried in the Chatby Military and War Memorial Cemetery, Alexandria, Egypt, North Africa

MARSH.-On the 9th September, at the 19th General Hospital, Alexandria, of enteric fever (contracted at the Dardanelles). Corporal Alan Lindsay (First Australian Clearing Hospital) aged 28 years, dearly loved second son of H. Field March, New Town.
