WW1

If you could spare a few dollars to help with the running costs of hosting this website to keep it alive would be very much appreciated.

Thankyou from Gravesites of Tasmania in advance.

Marshall, Edward

The son of Percy Marshall of Zeehan Tasmania a labourer living in Stanley Tasmania who departed Adelaide 10th February 1917 on board “HMAT Seang Bee” with the 40th Infantry Battalion.

He died from wounds received on the field 30th September 1917 and was buried in the Longuenesse (St Omer) Souvenir Cemetery, France.

Friends of Mr Percy Marshall, Trial Road, will regret to learn that he received official advice yesterday that his son, Private Edward Marshall, had been killed by the enemy aircraft when in hospital. Private Edward was the second eldest son, and aged 26 years. He was a native of Zeehan, and was working on railway construction works on the North-West Coast at the time he enlisted some 12 months ago. Yesterday's advice did not state the date of the casualty, and was the only intimation received that he had been admitted to hospital.
