Portrait, Auckland Weekly News 1917

 

Born 30th March 1886 Launceston Tasmania to Jacob and Eliza Alice Marx, a farmer he enlisted New Zealand with the 10th Reinforcements Auckland Infantry Battalion, A Company and departed Wellington New Zealand 4th March 1916 on board “Willouchra” bound for Egypt.

He was killed in action 7th June 1917 at Messines and is commemorated on the Messines Ridge (NZ) Memorial, Belgium.
