Matheson, Murdo

Born Stornaway Scotland the son of John and Mary Matheson a 24 year old miner at North Lyell he enlisted Claremont Tasmania and embarked Hobart 20^th October 1914 on board “HMAT Geelong” with the 12^th Infantry Battalion.

He was killed in action 6^th April 1917 in France and is commemorated on the Australian National Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, France
