McCarthy Hector James

 

Born 4th May 1894 Hamilton the son of Peter and Mary Elizabeth McCarthy (nee Wrigley) a 21 year old labourer he enlisted Victoria and served with the 24th Battalion.

 

He died from wounds received in the field 14th March 1917 aged 20 and is commemorated in the Dernancourt Communal Cemetery
