McCarthy Hector James

Born 4^th May 1894 Hamilton the son of Peter and Mary Elizabeth McCarthy (nee Wrigley) a 21 year old labourer he enlisted Victoria and served with the 24^th Battalion.

He died from wounds received in the field 14^th March 1917 aged 20 and is commemorated in the Dernancourt Communal Cemetery
