McLaren, Archibald Douglas
Born 27th September 1898 St. Patrick’s River, the son of Archibald and Annie Christy Mclaren (nee Adams) a farmer who embarked Melbourne 8th February 1916 on board “HMAT Warilda” with the 12th Infantry Battalion. He received the congratulations of Major General Cox for gallantry in bringing in wounded men under heavy gunfire. He was killed in action 4th September 1916 and is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France
