McPartlan Thomas Patrick

 

Born 14th August 1894 Hobart Tasmania the son of Patrick Francis and Anastasia McPartlan (nee Rigney) a clerk he embarked Melbourne 27th September 1915 on board “HMAT Hororata” with the 3rd Field Artillery Brigade Reinforcements.

 

He was a compulsory trainee and was drafted into the 41st Battery AFA (Citizen Forces)

 

He was killed in action 16th June 1917 in Belgium and is commemorated in the Maple Leaf Cemetery, Comines-Warneton, Hainaut, Belgium

Mrs. McPartlan of Hobart received word on Tuesday of her son Tom who has been killed in action in France. Gunner McPartlan had been fighting for two years and his brother Frank fought all through Gallipoli and is now in France. Both brothers were on the one gun. Several other men were wounded at the same time.
