McPherson, John Duncan

 

 

 

Bon 3rd April 1885 Don Tasmania the son of John Stewart and Charlotte Elizabeth McPherson (nee Denney) a farmer he embarked Hobart 20th October 1914 on board “HMAT Geelong” with the 12th Infantry Battalion.

 

Served on the Gallipoli Peninsula where he was wounded twice and later transferred to the Wandsworth Hospital in England with general debility.  In August 1916 he rejoined his battalion in France.

 

He was killed in action 6th April 1917 and is commemorated on the  Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, Villers-Bretonneux Area, France.
