Morris, Gerald

Born Glenora Tasmania the son of Henry C Morris of Macquarie Plains a farm labourer he embarked Hobart 1^st July 1916 on board “HMAT Berrima” with the 40^th Infantry Battalion.

On the 4^th December 1916 he was appointed Lance Corporal and on the 3^rd January 1917 he was listed as missing in action

A Court of Enquiry found he was killed in action 3^rd January 1917 in France and is commemorated in the Cite Bonjean Military Cemetery, Armentieres, Lille, France
