Morris, Gerald

 

 

 

 

Born Glenora Tasmania the son of Henry C Morris of Macquarie Plains a farm labourer he embarked Hobart 1st July 1916 on board “HMAT Berrima” with the 40th Infantry Battalion.

 

On the 4th December 1916 he was appointed Lance Corporal and on the 3rd January 1917 he was listed as missing in action

 

A Court of Enquiry found he was killed in action 3rd January 1917 in France and is commemorated in the Cite Bonjean Military Cemetery, Armentieres, Lille, France
