Morris, John Cyril Ashton

 

Born 20th March 1896 Launceston Tasmania to Enoch and Frances Elizabeth Morris (nee Flynn) an apprentice cabinetmaker who embarked Brisbane 29th June 1915 on board “HMAT Aeneas” with the 26th Battalion.

He was wounded on the Gallipoli Peninsula and died 22nd September 1915 on board the hospital ship “Dunluce Castle” and was buried at sea.  He is commemorated on the Lone Pine Memorial, Gallipoli, Turkey.
