Murray, Lindley Valentine
Born 14th February 1894 Hobart Tasmania to Ernest Augustus and Mabel Ann Murray (nee James) he departed Melbourne 27th September 1915 on board “HMAT Hororata” with the 12th Infantry Battalion. He was killed in action 27th February 1917 and is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France TASMANIAN CASUALTIES. Last week Mrs. W. Deacon, of North Motton was advised by the Defence Department that her brother, Private L. V. Murray, was killed in action on February 27 Private Murray was well known in the district where he had spent the greater part of his life and the news of his death caused many expressions of regret.
