Newman, Arthur

Born 2^nd March 1893 Golconda Tasmania to Robert and Ellen Agnes Newman (nee Cousins) a labourer from Zeehan who departed Hobart 20^th October 1914 on board “HMAT Geelong with the 12^th Infantry Battalion.

He was serving with the 3rd Light Trench Mortar Battery Australian Field Artillery when he was killed in action 25^th July 1916 and is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France.
