Newman, Arthur
Born 2nd March 1893 Golconda Tasmania to Robert and Ellen Agnes Newman (nee Cousins) a labourer from Zeehan who departed Hobart 20th October 1914 on board “HMAT Geelong with the 12th Infantry Battalion. He was serving with the 3rd Light Trench Mortar Battery Australian Field Artillery when he was killed in action 25th July 1916 and is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France.
